My First Night Out Alcohol Free

Well i went out with friends last night, yes it was only to the local pub that dates back to 1835 it's on the corner of the lane where i live so it wasn't out out so it was much easier not to drink than if i'd gone out out.  Actually i was fine with it and because i have such a good bunch of friends we always have such a laugh.

The lane where i live is going up to the back of the pub

Going off track a little the lane where i live is very old and the land around here has been inhabited since the Saxons.  Little villages in the Medieval times are recorded and the Romans also stayed as did the Saxons who helped ward off invasions from the Celts. In fact there is still a Roman path leading  up to Hartshead Pike an old landmark that still stands to this day, although it wasn't there when the Romans were around it was built as a look out after they had long gone.

You can just see the Roman Road with it's worn stones

We have little old Farms that date back to as early as the 16th and 17th Centuries and if you believe in   anything supernatural then i have a little story for you.

When my Daughter was five we moved here.  A few weeks into living here she started to speak about a lady by the name of Yvonne who used to speak to her in her room.  I asked her what she mean't and she said 'Yvonne Mum, she calls into my room when i'm there.  Ah an imaginary friend...A few months later Isobel was still talking about Yvonne and one day Isobel came to me and said 'Mum, come and meet Yvonne she is in my bedroom'.  I thought 'oh ok, i'll go along with it'.  Off i went to Isobel's bedroom.  When we got there Yvonne had disappeared according to Isobel and she became a bit upset. I asked why she was upset, she said she said she would wait.  When we sat down on the bed i asked her what Yvonne the little girl looked like, maybe she could tell me all about her instead.  She said 'oh Mum, she isn't a little girl she's an old lady.  She doesn't have hair and has no teeth except one at the front and that's old and black, she doesn't talk just smiles and nods'  She comes with Mice around her feet. I said 'oh like Cinderella?' Isobel said 'no Mum silly, Cinderella doesn't look scruffy and old, Yvonne doesn't have clothes on she just wears a bag for a dress. Very confused i just said 'never mind Isobel, Yvonne probably had to go and she'll be back.  Yvonne never came back but months later near to Christmas i was making some Personalised Christmas sacks for Christmas, Isobel turned to me and said Mum, that is the what Yvonne wore, (i was working with hessian)but hers was full of holes.   I wonder to this day whether Yvonne was a figment of  Isobel's imagination or perhaps she had been learning about the Medieval times at school but Isobel started school when we first moved here in the April, although she was by the September but still to this day Isobel says Yvonne was real and that she used to sit in the corner of her room smiling and nodding her head at her.

SPOOKY

Anyway off on a tangent i went...back to my night out

I went out at 7.30pm for a couple of hours and was going to be home for 10.00pm, cough cough 1am i rolled in!!! SOBER as a JUDGE!!! Yaaayyyyyyy. I've woke this morning bright as a daisy, although a little tired but most of the withdrawal off yeast is fading now so the next couple of days i should start to feel fine.
